VanMoof error 41: Boost button pressed too long or too often

The right handlebar button (Boost) is being seen as held down or spammed. The firmware logs it to catch a stuck button. The bike still rides, but a permanently stuck Boost button can make the motor pull harder than you want.
Likely causes
- Button stuck after a crash or a knock
- Grime, ice or water in the button housing
- Rider holding Boost for very long stretches (the firmware limits continuous Boost)
- Worn button dome after years of use
- Damaged button cable at the handlebar
How to fix VanMoof error 41
- Press and release the Boost button several times and check it springs back cleanly
- Clean the button and housing with a brush and a damp cloth; let it dry
- Power cycle the bike to clear the code
- If Boost feels weak afterwards, that is normal thermal protection after long use; let the motor cool
- If the button is stuck or the error returns on its own, have an independent VanMoof-capable shop replace the button module

Is error 41 dangerous?
Only if the button is truly stuck and the bike keeps applying Boost. Stop, switch off, and free the button before riding on.
Why is Boost cutting out?
Continuous Boost is limited by firmware and by motor temperature. Error 41 appears when the button is held past that limit; error 46 appears when the motor gets hot.
Do S5 and A5 have the same Boost button issue?
